Take a round aluminium cake mould as a base. Then : - either you make the above shape out of salt dough and cook it . It takes longer but the mould is stronger. - or you wrap the aluminium mould in newspaper and attach it with wide scotch tape. The shape is obtained by putting more or less paper where it belongs . It is faster but requires some skills . In all cases cover the mould well with plastic film . |
Coat the mould with liquid paraffin (Vaseline) to facilitate the release from the mould. Take strips of newspaper and coat them with glue for wallpaper. Lay them on the mould adjusting them to its shape. Lay several layers in various directions, and don't forget to cover the sides as well. The more layers you make the stronger the mask will be . Don't put too many layers where the eyes will be in order to facilitate the cuttingout of the eyes . Let dry on heater, for one to three days according to the quantity of glue. |
Make 2 holes for the eyes and 2 for the rubber band. Paint the mask with acrylic paint . Cut the ears out of cardboard and paint them. Draw the nose with a multi surface felt-tip pen and glue wool threads as a beard . |
