Lucas wants to leave his family to live alone. He leaves with a list of the people  he can eat.
He meets them but cannot decide to eat them, in spite of its growing hunger
He meets an ogre, he is so hungry that he devours it, which enables him to deliver Tom Thumb and his brothers.
